The 2019 Columbia Gorge Early Music Retreat will be held March 15th-18th, 2019, at the Menucha Retreat and Conference Center in Corbett Oregon.
Imagine a long weekend filled with music-making, camaraderie, good food and a beautiful setting in nature, and you are already having dreams of attending the Columbia Gorge Early Music Retreat. Located just 20 miles east of Portland and perched on a bluff overlooking the spectacular Columbia River, Menucha is an idyllic retreat center.
Ensemble classes for intermediate to advanced recorder players will play from renaissance consort music to baroque and contemporary works, as well as music for double reeds and percussion. Violas da gambas are also welcome. Six faculty members ensure small class sizes with personalized attention during the day. Evening events include tutti sessions, a faculty concert, English Country Dance, and informal consort playing.
Our outstanding core faculty includes Vicki Boeckman, Laura Kuhlman and Phil and Gayle Neuman. For our 2019 Retreat, we are very pleased to also welcome Lisette Kielson and Mark Davenport. Click HERE for more information about our 2019 faculty.
Columbia Gorge Early Music Retreat offers up to two full scholarships, covering tuition and room and board (but not including travel expenses) to a recorder educator or a student. Applications are accepted to January 15th, 2019. Click here to access the Scholarship form.
